While I painted, I kept remembering the vapour trails I watched as a child,
and the moment of pointing at a map and talking about where I wanted to go.
A feeling flowed into this work of its own accord — that life is free,
and that it opens out without end.
As I layered the colours and the shapes one by one,
a quiet certainty settled into the painting: you can go anywhere, just as you are.
